The Hotel Piet Hein is set in an ornate red brick building and overlooking Vondel Park. The hotel's late 19th century exterior belies its modern design inside. From Central Station, take tram number 2 or 5 and get off at the Van Gogh Museum; turn right at the traffic lights, take the third street on your right - the hotel is on the right. Much of Amsterdam can be explored on foot although trams run throughout the city. More adventurous visitors may wish to hire bicycles....
