The Hotel Goldener Adler is a traditional Tyrolean inn, which first opened in 1390 and is set in an 18th century building. Beside the hotel entrance is a marble plaque with some of the names of the famous people who have stayed here, including Emperor Joseph II, Mozart and Goethe. Guestrooms feature rustic white walls and dark wood antique furniture. All have cable television, telephones, minibars and safes. Bathrooms have toiletries, hair dryers and showers or bathtubs.
In the restaurant, guests can select from a choice of hearty mountain cuisine and dine in historic surrounds, with wood paneling, antique tables and beams. There are numerous private dining rooms which seat from 12 to 80 guests. The hotel is in the center of Innsbruck, adjacent to the landmark Golden Roof; the Hofburg Imperial Palace, where the Austrian Emperors lived, is 100 meters from the front door.
